Your Maui Real Estate Search Starts Here
Shopping For Real Estate on Maui
Maui is home to many great neighborhoods with much diversity in its collection of communities. While the first thing that comes to mind about Maui real estate is the beautiful oceanfront properties, there are also a large number of rural homes with acreage as well as many well-planned subdivisions. Deciding on what part of the island you would like to own is really the first part of a search.
Narrowing down your list of 'must-haves' and 'nice-to-haves' is important to do with your realtor for he/she to balance along with your budget. The quickest way to know your buying power, if you're not planning on using cash, is to contact one of my preferred lenders. Please call me at 808-214-4799 or send an email to evan@mauieliteproperty.com to get my preferred lender list and get started on your hunt for your perfect piece of Maui real estate.
Real Estate Varies Around the Island
West Maui
The communities on the West Side of Maui have a similar resort/oceanfront vibe that has less residential inventory but also has a couple of the island’s absolute best neighborhoods in Launiopoko and Plantation Estates.
Lahaina, Ka'anapali, Honokowai, Kahana, Napili, and Kapalua are each wonderful and unique areas to explore on West Maui. Working with a Maui Realtor with local knowledge will make the search much smoother and position you to land the property of your dreams.
Northshore Properties For Sale
The Northshore of Maui is one of those beautifully wild places with a reputation for adventure. Some of the world’s best surfers, windsurfers, and kitesurfers take to this part of the island for the challenge that it offers. Most of the homes for sale in this area are in Sprecklesville, Paia, and the early part of the Road to Hana which is technically Haiku. Style abounds on Maui's Northshore with many luxury properties and beautiful homes in this area. Learn more about Paia Real Estate.
Upcountry
Along the slopes of Haleakala sits several rural Maui communities such as Haiku, Makawao, Pukalani, and Kula. Among these four communities, there is more acreage for sale and homes with larger lots. Subdivisions in Upcountry Maui tend to have more space and privacy as well. Upcountry living is for those who like country life and cooler temperatures.
Most people who are first looking at moving to Maui don't include the Upcountry area in their search, they want to be closer to the beach. But, after living in Maui for several years, the upcountry area becomes more and more attractive with larger lots and cooler temperatures.
Central Maui | Kahului and Wailuku
Located in the center of the island, Kahului and Wailuku are the most populated towns on Maui. These communities have access to the largest commercial center on the island. The Wailuku hillside is famous for the Wailuku Heights neighborhood with its towering views and custom architecture.
The master-planned community of Kehalani is also a very popular area to buy a home on Maui. Kahului has several great neighborhoods, such as the ones in the Maui Lani area. Learn more about Wailuku Real Estate.
You'll Want to Work With One of Maui's Best Realtors
Step #1: Find a Realtor You Can Trust Your Business With
Choosing an experienced local Realtor is your quickest path to success if you are serious about owning your own slice of paradise. But, it will take a dedicated and savvy real estate agent to help you secure the property of your dreams or get you top dollar for the property you need to sell.
Just like in other professional service industries such as dentists, doctors, or mechanics, all of the Realtors on Maui have different skill levels and you'll want to be discerning about who you choose to work for you.
Step #2: Refine Your Search Criteria and Do The Homework Together
Working closely with an agent like myself, we will establish the criteria for the search and we will make sure that the moment a new property meeting your desires hits the market, we get an update. Once we have identified a property of interest, we will do our homework on getting more detail such as getting a video, doing a video walkthrough together, or seeing the property in person.
If everything looks good, then we will run the numbers together, look at comps, and see how the price compares. We will use all of that research to put together our best offer based on what the market interest is in the property as well. I help my clients at every single point in the process and take pride in not only securing my clients the deals they want but also helping them avoid any potential mistakes by going the extra mile in the research department.
