Kihei is a Hawaiian beach community on the southern shores of Maui. Kihei’s location means that it's perfectly placed for easy access to the best of what Maui has to offer, like the picture-perfect beaches of Wailea and Makena, surfing, snorkeling, ocean cruises, and more. There are so many great things to do in Kihei that many consider buying a home or condo here themselves. 

Specifically, there are considerable benefits to owning a short-term rentable condo in Kihei. Thanks to its proximity to some of Maui’s best beaches, Kihei is a popular vacation destination and therefore has a large number of condo complexes compared to other Maui communities.

The three Kamaole beaches along with Sugar Beach and Keawakapu Berach offer all the popular ocean sports such as snorkeling, diving, and paddleboarding, as well as fantastic swimming. Average occupancy rates of condos in Kihei are between 80 and 90 percent, therefore most condo owners will see sizable returns on their investments from vacation rentals.

North Kihei is the quieter end of the community with more residential buildings than commercial ones, and the majority of the vacation rental condominium complexes here are oceanfront, on Waipuilani Beach, or Sugar Beach. A new Merriman's restaurant is coming at the Mana Kai by 2026. 

Mana Kai is therefore perfect for those who want to be close to the restaurants and other attractions of South Kihei, or for those who want easy access to the high-end resort of Wailea without the accompanying price tag.
