The Coastal Border of Wailea and Makena

Wailea Polo Beach

The Wailea Resort boasts several outstanding beaches that front the community. Polo Beach, known in Hawaiian as Ke Ono O' Polo, along the southern coast of Wailea, provides an excellent setting for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing.

About This Beach

Polo Beach lies south of Wailea Beach, and immediately north of Palauea Beach. A hillside adjoins this site. The topography offers both advantages and disadvantages. Some beachgoers choose to use umbrellas or canopies to escape from the sun during the hottest hours of the day.

Kamaole Beach Park II

About Kamaole 2

The excellent white sand beach at "Kam 2" extends for nearly a third of a mile. The beach park directly adjoins South Kihei Road, with parking available immediately off the roadway. People descend from the entrance down a short hillside to reach the Pacific Ocean. Maui County recently refurbished an ADA-accessible ramp to ensure everyone enjoys excellent access to this beach.

A fine covering of sand extends offshore, making this location ideal for swimming, snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, and other water activities. Lifeguards watch over the waterfront during the hours when the park remains open to the public. Nonswimmers should exercise caution since the gradient of the land beneath the water proves steep in a few locations.

Hottest Single-Family Market in Years

Maui Real Estate Market Report

Singe-family residential inventory is extremely low with only 449 active listings on the entire island of Maui in Septemeber of 2020. Compare that to 5 years ago where we had 613 single-family homes for sale on Maui in September 2015. Buyer demand in this sector has been increasing steadily throughout COVID-19 and with fewer homes on the market, it's certainly a seller's market in single family residential. New construction is certainly not keeping up with demand and only a handful of larger residential developments are underway in places like Ilima and Anuhea at Kehalani. Prices have remained very stable and well-built luxury homes are selling very quickly.
