Kula Homes For Sale
Kula is a very quiet community resting on the slopes of Haleakala and has a very mellow vibe for those looking for some peace and quiet. It's also close enough to the Northshore beaches to make it a quick trip to go for a quick surf or swim.
Wanna go to Hana? Take the back way from Kula and get there quicker. Ulupalakua is a quick drive to visit the Tedeschi Winery or take a quick drive to Poli Poli for a stroll around the Maui Lavender Farm.
There are a great variety of fun things to do in Upcountry Maui and Kula makes the perfect laid back rural setting to call home. Keep reading to learn more about this special place.
Discover The Splendor of Kula and Upcountry
This inland location includes extensive sections of land zoned for agricultural purposes. The region surrounds the quiet farming community of Kula. Pukalani and Makawao lie towards the northern edge of the Upcountry.
The towns of Keokea and Ulupalakua fall within its southwestern borders. To the southeast, the massive Mount Haleakala volcano rises in the distance.
Kula Homes For Sale in Kula Meadows
Kula Meadows is a gated agricultural subdivision with large lots and many beautifully designed homes that belong on the cover of magazines. Unlike many other Kula Real Estate developments, Kula Meadows is not limited by access to water and water meters. Kula Meadows is on a private water meter system that makes it a very attractive place to build.
Today, the verdant green "Upcountry" attracts a growing number of visitors to the Hawaiian Islands. It extends from Central Maui towards the sloping border of Haleakala National Park. Many exciting real estate developments appeal to homebuyers across this broad region.
Kula Country Farms
One of the most popular local attractions, Kula Country Farms, produces a variety of in-demand agricultural items. The company offers several pick-your-own crops throughout the year, including pumpkins and strawberries. Its farm stand markets fresh fruits and vegetables.
Other Popular Upcountry Agricultural Attractions
Several other businesses also draw visitors to the Kula Area. For example, Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm grows over 45 varieties of fragrant lavender. The nursery sells freshly cut flowers, as well as a wide array of soaps, shampoos, and creams containing aromatic lavender extracts.
Another popular local firm, Kula Bees, produces honey. The company conducts educational programs and creates delicious granolas and confectionaries.
Enjoy Equestrian Activities
The quiet countryside around Kula includes some boarding stables, too. A few businesses offer equestrian activities. For example, Thompson Horse Ranch near Kula conducts trail rides for visitors at the ranch.
Beautiful Weather in Kula
Many lovely residential properties cluster within this interior zone. Some Upcountry residents enjoy seasonally cooler temperatures than people in other locations, in fact. Higher elevations in parts of the region impact the temperature.
For instance, while Kula receives less rain than some other communities here, its outlying neighborhoods at higher elevations sometimes report occasional temperatures below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
Homes For Sale In Kula
Maui real estate buyers discover many fine homes for sale in Kula. These residences frequently furnish spacious lots. Agricultural zoning sometimes permits property owners here to maintain ohanas (or cottages) as guest homes or rental properties. Consider just a few of the subdivisions near the Kula Area:
Kula Orchards
The Kula Orchard development includes many single-family dwellings, some of them constructed during the early 1970s, and others dating from later periods. It supplies paved roadways. The development stands southeast of Kula along Road 377, roughly midway between Keokea and Pukalani. Some streets here include Ainakula Road, Huina Place, and Kulalani Circle. Most homes have septic tanks, and some offer ohanas.
Kula Nani Estates
Located in Upper Kula, the Kula Nani Estates underwent extensive development during the early 1980s. They feature underground utilities and private water sources. Many of these properties include ohanas. Some 38 residences lie within the subdivision. Lots vary in size, but most encompass two (or more) acres of land.
Kula Meadows
The opulent Kula Meadows subdivision reportedly includes some of the most luxurious properties in Maui. It stands on a gated tract of 133 acres and includes some 16 lots ranging in size from nearly five acres to around 25 acres. Residents access their homes via Road 370. Some streets within this community include Apali Way, Opalipali Place, and Pulehu Road.
The Kula Meadows Homeowners Association works to protect property values in this residential community. Although residences become available here infrequently, one sale of a custom home of 3,766 feet a few years ago commanded a sales price in the upper $2 million range.
Kula Kai
Not to be confused with Kula Kai View Estates on the Big Island of Hawaii, these 136 lots frequently provide superb West Maui Mountain Views. Many of these homes date from the early 1970s. Roads within the subdivision include Mano Drive, Kau Street, Ka Drive, Makai Place, and Mauka Place.
Kula Glen
The Kula Glen subdivision includes some residences on lots of 2-acres or more. It stands a short distance below the lower Kula Highway (Highway 37). Custom homes in this development sometimes feature ohanas.
Kula Ekahi, And More!
Single-family dwellings and lots stand within Kula Ekahi. One recent listing offered a 0.87-acre tract for sale off Anuenue Place. As development expands outside Kula, new Upcountry homes and subdivisions arise in the area
