Kehalani is Wailuku's Largest Residential Area

While new home development continues to this day, construction began on the Kehalani master-planned community in the 1990s This area of Wailuku was chosen because of its great location as well as the great climate and views from having a slightly higher altitude at 800 feet from sea level.

Some of the developments are condominiums such as Milo Court and Iliahi, while most are larger residential developments such as Ohia and The Highlands at Kehalani. There were a variety of different developers who participated in the construction of Kehalani over the last few decades. Towne development, DR Horton, and Stanford Carr Development.

Wailuku is the heart of Maui and living in Kehalani provides a wide variety of conveniences. On Maui, you’re never too far from the beach, and from Wailuku, you can quickly get to the beaches of Kihei or the Northshore. Living in Wailuku also gives you the quickest access to Maui Memorial Medical Center, the Queen Kaahumana Center, and the University of Hawaii Maui College. Ohia at Kehalani

Ohia Kehalani

Ohia was built in two phases. The Ohia I phase completed 140 homes in 2004 and the Ohia II phase completed 44 more homes in 2005 for a total of 184 homes in the subdivision. The homes in Ohia range from 1,302 square feet to 2,384 square feet and offer 5 different floorplans with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The neighborhood offers great views and is also very close to the Puu Kukui Elementary School.

Town Island Homes built 72 homesites right beneath the West Maui mountains on the Wailuku hillside. These homes come in 5 different floorplans with an average of 2,500 square feet of living space on lots that are over 10,000 square feet. Koa offers a variety of home sizes around that average, the smallest homes are 3 bedrooms and the largest are 6 bedrooms. This subdivision is known for its views of the Northshore and Haleakala.

The Highlands are the newest and hottest residential offering within the Kehalani master-planned community. With 4 floorplans, Keola, Anuenue, Makani, and Manoa each offering something a little different. All have 3 bedrooms and a minimum of 1,500 square feet and a maximum of 1743 square feet, 2 floorplans are single level and the other 2 are two-story floorplans.


Nanea is one of the rarest available Kehalani homes for sale. This subdivision of 80 homes was completed in 1998 and has been one of the hottest micro-markets in the Wailuku real estate market ever since.

The Nanea at Kehalani neighborhood was built by Spencer Homes and features floor plans ranging from 1,200 to 1,694 square feet. Most of the homes are single-story but a few are 2 stories and feature 4 bed/3bath layouts. Contact one of us to learn more about this great neighborhood. 


Ilima at Kehalani Wailuku

Ilima at Kehalani is the latest addition to the master-planned community and if early sales are any sign, it's going to be one of the most popular as well. Ilima offers 7 extraordinary floorplans with a range of 1,391 and 1,998 square feet of living space. 49 single family homes will be built, making it a smaller subdivision than many of the other neighborhoods in the community. All featuring 3bd/2.5 baths, the Ilima subdivision has an incredible location and home prices start in the 700k range.

Kealohilani at Kehalani

This Wailuku subdivision is made up of 88 homes that feature 4 different floor plans that start at 1,500 square feet in living space. As with all of the Kehalani homes and condos, it features great access to all of the conveniences of Wailuku such as Foodland and Longs while having a more rural feeling with opportunities to have an ocean view. Kealohilani is a DR Horton project and construction is still ongoing for many of the lots. There are a few Kealohilani homes for sale but these do not stay on the market long.


Olena at Kehalani

The construction on the Olena at Kehalani development finished in 2 phases during the early 2000s. Together, both phases of construction completed 73 homes that are in the 3 bedrooms and 4 bedroom variety. Most of the homes in this neighborhood are multi-generational and do not go on the market very often. 


Akolea Kehalani

The Akolea at Kehalani is one of Wailuku's best neighborhoods featuring many homes with great ocean and mountain views. These 97 homes come in 7 different floorplans that are 3 bedrooms and range from 1,700 square feet to 2,400 square feet of living space on lots that span 7,036 to 16,635 square feet. Town Island homes were the developers for Akolea. 

Cottages at Kehalani

Stanford Carr Development finished construction on "The Cottages" in 2010. This subdivision features 114 home sites over 23 acres that feature 6 different floor plans for owners to choose from. This neighborhood is known for its close-knit community and for having access to some of the best views in Kehalani. The Cottages at Kehalani range from 1,700 to 2,500 square feet and feature spacious layouts.

Within the Kehalani master community, you’ll find a variety of condos for sale across a handful of complexes. Each of these communities carries maintenance fees that cover a wide variety of living expenses such as sewer, water, landscaping, exterior insurance, and trash. Milo Court

Milo Court Kehalani

Originally constructed between 2010 and 2013, these duplex-style townhomes are available in two floorplans only, 3bd/2bth or 3bd/2.5 bath. There are 94 units in the Milo Court at Kehalani condo community and with larger living spaces of 1,450 feet and the townhome-style of development, the units feel more like single-family homes rather than condos.

Iliahi at Kehalani

The Iliahi at Kehalani is a similar style development to Milo Court in that it is townhome-style condos that consist of one floorplan of 3bds/2.5 baths. Across the property spanning 9.8 acres, there are 92 units in 23 buildings that come in around 1,250 square feet on average. The Iliahi was constructed in 2005 and offers great views of the West Maui mountains.

Villas at Kehalani

The Villas at Kehalani are one of the most desired properties in all of the Kehalani master community because of the spacious floorplans, garages, tall ceilings, and luxurious vibe. The Villas offer a few floor plans, 2bd and 3bd, with a range of living space of 1,446 sq feet to 1,853 sq feet. This community is gated offering that extra level of privacy and security.


One of the newest developments in Kehalani, The Kamani at Kehalani are two-story units that have similar floorplans to Milo Court since both were built by the same developer, Towne Development.

That means the units are 3bd/2bth or 3bd/2.5bth with around 1,400 square feet of living space. There are 138 units total at Kamani that all come with a two-car garage. Kamani is another condo development that feels like residential living.

Kehalani Gardens

This development comes with slightly smaller floorplans than the previous few starting at 935 square feet going up to 1,133 square feet. The 3bd/2bth floorplan are single-level condos that have a small fenced yard to enjoy while the 2bd/2bth are two-story units. They all come with covered parking, but no garage. Kehalani Gardens has 132 units on 11 acres with all of Wailuku at your fingertips.

Ho'olea Terrace

The most budget-friendly condo in Kehalani, Stanford Carr development finished the 174 units at Ho’olea Terrace in 2013. This community consists of 29 buildings, each with 6 units sporting a few different floorplans including 3bd/2bth with 953 square feet. The 2bd/1.5 bath floorplans have 751 sq feet and all units come with a lanai. This is one of the most active condo complexes in Wailuku due to its affordable pricing and quality of the units.

Kehalani Homeowners Association

The Kehalani Homeowners Association exists to preserve the integrity and value of all of the developments within the master-planned community. They set policies and coordinate efforts to maintain and improve all of the developments contained within the community.
